Abstract Category:

Each abstract submission should be submitted to one of the two categories below:

(1) Completed or (2) Works in Progress

Please read through the abstract guidelines and instructions before beginning a submission. You will need to create a separate login for each category.


  • Abstract submissions must be blinded.
  • Please omit all references to author names and/or organizations from the abstract title, learning outcomes, and body text to ensure an unbiased and fair review process.
  • All abstracts must include a statement of clinical importance, outlining the impact the project had on professional development, care delivery, or patient outcomes.
  • Abstract submissions must align with at least one conference theme.

(1) Completed Abstracts

Education, Evidence Based Practice (EBP), Leadership, Quality Improvement (QI), Research

(Oral or Poster)

Completed abstracts are expected to use a structured format with the following headings:

  1. Significance/Background/Relevance (20%) (Why): Describe the initiative’s relevance and importance in context of the selected theme and why the initiative was necessary
  2. Purpose/Aims (10%) (What): Identify the overall goal of the initiative
  3. Methods/Strategies/Interventions (20%) (How): Describe the initiative actions and the process of implementation
  4. Findings/Results (30%) (So, what): Describe analytic findings and include actual data demonstrating the value of the project
  5. Discussion/Implications/Conclusion (20%) (And now what): Discuss the meaning of the findings and their implications for nursing practice.

(2) Works in Progress Abstracts

Education, Evidence Based Practice (EBP), Leadership, Quality Improvement (QI), Research

(Poster Only)

Works in Progress submissions do not include results at the time of submission and can only be accepted as a poster presentation. Preliminary results can be included in the poster during the session but are not required. Works in Progress are expected to use a structured format with the following headings:

  1. Significance/Background (30%)
  2. Relevance (15%)
  3. Purpose/Aims (15%)
  4. Proposed Methods (40%)
  5. Interim findings (if available, not required)
