Using Technology to Advance Health
The Office of Research is partnering with Stanford University’s Department of Engineering, the School of Medicine, and other groups to develop and test technology in wound care, patient education, patient mobility, and pain management. Recent examples include the evaluation of mobile phone software to prevent and detect falls and the use of wearable consumer-grade accelerometers to quantify cancer patients’ adherence to prescribed physical activity.
